Custom pottery rim cones and rim shapers
A rim cone is a shaped tool for guiding the outline of a soft clay rim. Choose from 16 shapes: round, ellipse, heart, triangle, rounded square, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, rectangle, capsule, two stars and flowers with three to six petals.
Set the size from 50 to 300 mm, adjust the height and taper, and choose straight, concave or convex walls. Switch between millimetres and inches. Check the actual length and width at both edges: the size control describes a circumscribed circle, not the width of every shape.
The optional finer narrow edge can cut a corresponding shape from a clay slab, for example a mug base. Check the narrow-edge dimensions against your planned base and allow for your clay and joining method. A textured slab can form the mug wall.
Which wall profile should I choose?
Straight walls give a constant taper. Concave and convex profiles change the slope along the height for experimenting with different rim and neck curves. The result depends on your clay, its firmness and how far you insert the tool; test the fit gently on a sample piece.
Printed tool or digital STL file?
Choose a printed rim cone made to your configuration, or a digital file for your own 3D printer. The configured price is shown before adding to the cart. Digital orders are delivered by an emailed download link after payment; no physical tool is shipped with a digital purchase.
What should I check before 3D printing?
Compare the actual length, width and height with your printer build volume. Read the included printing instructions and inspect the model in your slicer before printing. Save the configuration code to restore the same shape, dimensions and wall profile in the builder.
Mix print files and save
Buy digital files from either builder together: 2 files save 10%, 3–4 save 15%, and 5 or more save 20%. The best eligible discount is applied automatically in your cart and at checkout. Printed tools and handles do not count.
