Create modern faceted ceramic dishes, geometric plates, and low-poly pottery pieces with this 3D printed pottery form by DIY Project Depot. Designed for clay slab building, this mold helps you shape crisp angular ceramic pieces without using a pottery wheel.
This is a hump mold / drape mold, meaning the clay slab is placed over the outside of the form. The raised polygonal shape guides the clay into a clean and repeatable faceted dish with angular planes, geometric surfaces, and a contemporary sculptural look.
The low-poly design is ideal for makers who want modern ceramics with sharp visual structure. Depending on your glaze and clay body, the finished piece can look architectural, crystalline, faceted, polygonal, gemstone-inspired, origami-like, or minimalist. It works beautifully as a ceramic serving dish, decorative bowl, jewelry tray, catchall dish, candle plate, sculptural plate, modern tableware piece, or handmade pottery gift.
No pottery wheel is required. Simply roll out a clay slab, drape it over the mold, smooth it gently by hand, let it firm up, then remove and finish your piece using your usual ceramic process.
Each mold is an original in-house design by DIY Project Depot and is 3D printed in France from plant-based bioplastic. It is lightweight, durable, easy to handle, and suitable for beginners, pottery students, home ceramic makers, craft workshops, and professional ceramic studios.
Multiple sizes are available, including larger sizes up to 40 cm / 15.7 inches. You can also choose the mold height: 2 cm, 3 cm, or 4 cm / approximately 0.8, 1.2, or 1.6 inches, depending on the depth and profile you want for your finished ceramic piece.

How to Use
Roll out a clay slab to your preferred thickness, usually around 4–6 mm. Place the slab over the low-poly drape mold and gently smooth the clay so it follows the geometric planes and faceted profile. Let the clay firm up until it can hold its shape, then carefully remove it from the mold.
After demolding, refine the rim and surface, dry slowly, bisque fire, glaze, and fire according to your usual ceramic process.
Depending on your clay body and workflow, you can demold dry, use a light release agent, or place stretch film between the clay and the mold.
Please account for clay shrinkage. Most clays shrink around 10–12% during drying and firing, so the final fired ceramic piece will usually be smaller than the mold size.
